Javed Akhtar is what Sadhguru was in his early adulthood, even i was like him until my college days.. Proud of being an atheist, rational thinker.. i can clearly see why Sadhguru doesn't making any effort to explain him because he already made up his mind on what he knows is the ultimate truth...i can see alot of compulsion in his body language to make a point and to get applause, Sadhguru is not trying to do that, he is calm(mostly). I do practise Sadhguru's inner engineering and it helped me alot...i also follow Javed Akhtar for his scientific thinking but he is limited with is mind.. For him Buddha, Ramana Maharshi, Ramanuja, karoli etc are delusional people because they mentioned they went beyond rationality and practice spirituality...but people like Tesla, Einstein, Steve Jobs, Zuckerberg admire and follow these same people for their spiritual wisdom and knowledge.

Tawaif is a north Indian term for court singers and dancers, who may have been part of royal Muslim courts. You can't use it for royal singers and dancers in rest of India. Muddupalani must have had some other name for her class of artists. Besides, was Haram as clear a tradition among non Muslim Indian royalty? Ahhhhh, I found it - Muddupalani was a devadaasi.
